ready IVOA Identifier

General Information
An IVOA Identifier is a globally unique name for a resource within the Virtual Observatory. This name can be used to retrieve a unique description of the resource from an IVOA-compliant registry or to identify an entity like a dataset or a protocol without dereferencing the identifier. This document describes the syntax for IVOA Identifiers as well as how they are created. The syntax has been defined to encourage global-uniqueness naturally and to maximize the freedom of resource providers to control the character content of an identifier.

VizieR astronomical catalogue database
VizieR is a library of published astronomical catalogues --tables and associated data-- with verified and enriched data, accessible via multiple interfaces. Query tools allow the user to select relevant data tables and to extract and format records matching given criteria. To be deposited within VizieR, data must be related to a publication in a refereed journal, either as tables or catalogues actually published, or as a paper describing the data and their context. VizieR is certified by the CoreTrustSeal. DOI: 10.26093/cds/vizier
